Packer-Brickley to serve as Sparkle Chairperson 2024

Kate Packer-Brickley, lifelong West Michigan resident and committed philanthropist, will be the chairperson for the Lilley Cares' Sparkle event 2024.

Kate attended The Citadel graduate school receiving her M.Ed. in clinical counseling and went on to practice in West Michigan for a number of years. While her girls were young she spent time volunteering and fundraising for the Montessori school they attended. She is an entrepreneur at heart having started her business with glass ornament manufacturers in Poland creating custom molded, hand painted one of a kind ornaments for the nonprofit and premium/incentive industries.  While she is now semi-retired, she looks forward to finding ways to serve the community she loves and now calls home.  "I have ideas to keep Sparkle fresh and add volunteers to our celebration this year," said Kate.  "The holidays are a special time and I look forward to working with the community to add memorable events to the December calendar that will bring us together throughout the season.  Kate is a lifelong animal lover, and is especially dedicated to her rescue dog Radar and holds a special place in her heart for off the track thoroughbreds.

Joan Mack, executive director of Lilley Cares, reported:  "there is no better person to take Sparkle to the next level than Kate. I am so excited to have her take the reins of this signature event."

The Sparkle Kick Off event is Saturday, November 30, 2024, the Saturday after Thanksgiving.

Kate will chair this celebratory event which has its first event in October and goes through December.  "I plan to reach out for volunteers so we can do more this year than ever before.
